Digitising (Re)insurance high on the agenda as the APAC market gathers in Singapore

Verisk Specialty Business Solutions and the Whitespace team will be attending the event which runs from 30th October to 2nd November. We will be showcasing our innovative digital trading platform to underwriters and brokers hoping to trade, negotiate contracts, and seamlessly share data in real-time whilst improving efficiency, reducing re-keying, and keeping pace with innovation in the global market.

Singapore is renowned as a leading financial and technology hub and will once again host the Singapore International Reinsurance Conference. The 19th Conference will be the first full in person event since Covid with in excess of two thousand delegates attending from over sixty countries. The theme for 2023 will be ‘(Re)insurance Reset’, broad enough to cover the range of issues impacting the industry, one of which is most certainly digitisation. While much progress is being made, many insurers and brokers remain reliant on paper and legacy systems but there is opportunity for this market to realise its full digital potential.

Built for (Re)Insurance

Unlike generic tools, Whitespace was designed from the ground up for the unique needs of the global (re)insurance market. Its intuitive interface delivers a centralised workspace where brokers and underwriters can collaborate digitally on contracts, eliminating friction from outdated practices like emailing documents. Singapore's stakeholders will appreciate how Whitespace streamlines the entire trade lifecycle for (re)insurance placement and makes the normally inefficient process of capturing structured data easy.

At Whitespace's core is a data-first and fully API-enabled architecture that captures policy information in structured digital form and allows it to be shared easily to and from other systems.

This data foundation empowers brokers and underwriters with actionable insights while automating manual work. With whitespace, your Contract of (Re)Insurance is your one single version of the truth that integrates seamlessly with other systems whilst boosting efficiency. Whitespace also enables real-time collaboration. Brokers and underwriters can message, share documents, and negotiate policies transparently in one place, with a full audit history captured.

Collaboration is at the heart of Whitespace, and the system helps foster the relationship between brokers and underwriters, ensuring that all stakeholders can work in harmony.

This facilitates faster, more streamlined placements and renewals giving all parties complete visibility into relationships and trades, enabling better business decisions.

Singapore has a diverse (re)insurance ecosystem spanning insurers, reinsurers, brokers, MGAs, and more whilst Whitespace – already widely proven with around 240 customers in other global hubs including London - can serve as an agnostic digital marketplace to connect these players.

Rapid setup

Adopting new technology is easier than it seems. Whitespace can be deployed rapidly, with insurers and brokers live in as little as a week. Singapore's stakeholders can quickly experience the platform's benefits firsthand.

Shifting from manual processes to digital capabilities takes a collaborative effort but more and more brokers and (re)insurers are signing up to Whitespace increasingly around the world.
