PRESS RELEASE – 23rd June 2003

Wilberforce Chambers go live with new intranet from WHITESPACE SOFTWARE

Lincoln’s Inn based Wilberforce Chambers have gone live this week with their new intranet system from Whitespace Software. Frustrated with the difficulties of communicating between 5 different sites and levels in the same buildings,  Wilberforce were losing time and money in chasing information, finding available photocopiers and with clerks providing a directory enquiry service to their barristers. Their new intranet puts all the information in one place with easy to navigate screens.

From the welcome screen, the 38 Barristers and 14 clerks and support staff at Wilberforce can access external sites, internal case documents, library and administrative information and chambers event diaries. Communication between barristers and clerks in different locations has improved substantially.

Declan Redmond, the Senior Clerk, comments “service to barristers, and therefore clients, has improved through efficient centralisation of information. In particular, library and marketing information is easily accessed and updated through easily navigated screens. Whitespace have co-operated closely with members of chambers to produce a significant improvement in the movement of information in a multi-site operation”.

Lucy Jaffé, Director at Whitespace Software says, “we are pleased to be working with a go-ahead and organised chambers who will reduce administrative work and increase efficiency through use of an intranet”
