Whitespace Software Limited is now providing
client/server solutions written within the new Microsoft .Net environment. Microsoft .Net uses the internet to enable
software applications to work more easily together, lowering the time and cost
associated with developing and maintaining business applications.
The new .Net environment will be used by Whitespace to
write solutions that are specifically designed to run on an office
network. The environment offers
productivity-enhancing features such as Intelli-sense, which gives developers
information about the software classes they are using. .Net also enables developers to build upon
their existing skill sets using multi-language support.
Whitespace .Net spokesperson, David Hall, says:
"Java is still the alternative for solutions based entirely on the server,
whilst Microsoft is the only real option for pure desktop applications. The new .Net environment offers speed of
development and reusability. Once the
component blocks have been written, they can be used again in other
systems."
