Lloyd's Names administration system

Whitespace wrote its first SYNOPSIS system for Members' Agents in 1985, when Lloyd's of London was mainly using a paper-based approach. Our software quietly revolutionised the way in which Agencies conducted their business.

We worked alongside executives to define the system they required; provided detailed documentation; and then trained them to use it. We also set up a support desk for Lloyd's clients covering the entire business year. The system was rewritten in the early nineties, and since 1999 has been used exclusively by the Members' Agency market for its core business activities.

More recently, we have built upon the smooth functionality of this DOS-based system by enabling executive users to view data through their browsers. This provides a modern approach without disrupting the underlying system. SYNOPSIS is written in C, and is based on our own in-house database.
