Mobile quotation system

For many years, an insurance provider has used Whitespace's rating engine software for its bespoke policy and claims administration system. It has won several awards for its use of technology, with Whitespace acting as its sole supplier throughout.

The client wanted to enable its 2000 agents to sell policies to clients online. We therefore wrote software that allows a client to go on cover in minutes rather than days. Each agent accesses the client website, and is directed to their own screen of quotes and sales. The agent can obtain an immediate quote from the system, and send queries to staff in the central office.

The Whitespace software allows the retrieval and return of information to the main database system. It involves a CGI application written in C++.

The code was written by Whitespace, with design help from an external specialist.
